Feltzbau 1995. The hull of the solid aluminium yacht of the type 'Skorpion 1200 DS' was built in Hamburg Finkenwerder. The 10m2 deck saloon is striking. In contrast to most production yachts of this design, it really deserves its name - when sitting in the saloon, the large windows are at eye level. The 4m2 center cockpit and more than 6m3 of storage space are also striking.From 1995 to 2001, the auctioneer expanded the ship for the needs of weekend and holiday cruises in the North Sea and Baltic Sea and equipped it accordingly. For future use as a blue-water vessel, extensive modifications and modifications inside and out and a lot of additional equipment were required. The corresponding work took us 3 long winters. The biggest "chunks" were, among other things, the blasting of the entire hull with subsequent repainting, completely new electrical and water installation (there was not a meter of electrical cable and not a meter of water pipe left in the ship), the change from furling boom to conventional for the mainsail and the completion of the still missing 25% of the interior fittings. The result is an all-round robust and proven construction for a blue water trip.
At the beginning of 2004, until then without sailing experience on large yachts, we thought for the first time about a longer blue water voyage on our own keel and thus also about a new phase of life. On 11.09.2008 we cast off the lines and "then we left" - in irregular, three to six month long stages.
